Summer Beach Etiquette for Dogs: What Every San Diego Pet Owner Should Know

Beach days are a blast, but let’s keep them fun for everyone! From Ocean Beach to Solana Beach, here’s how to practice top-notch beach etiquette with your pup.

Tips: Don’t be ‘those’ people - you know who I am talking about - no fingers being pointed here just IYKYK

Respect Leash Rules: Follow the leash rules at beaches like Ocean Beach and Mission Beach. It’s all about keeping things safe and enjoyable for everyone. Even if your dog is super chill and stays right with you, it makes others feel uncomfortable - If that’s your thing then find a time where you and your pup can be free-range.

Clean Up: Remember to pick up after your dog. It’s not just polite—it keeps our beaches clean and makes everyone’s beach day better. If you dont have a bag, ask for one - a friend in need is a friend indeed

Socialization: Supervise your dog’s interactions with others. The last thing we want is a beachside squabble. Keeping an eye on them ensures a smooth and friendly beach experience. If things get cray cray…take a break.
