We all wonder this, am I right? When we are away at work or play, what are our beloved dogs up to? Ever watched “The Secret Life of Pets”? Well, I've got some insider tips to give you a glimpse into your pup's life while you are away.

As a dog trainer, first off, it's important to remember that every dog is different, and their behavior will vary. Some might spend their alone time napping and relaxing, while others might turn into little Houdinis, trying to escape or get into mischief. I’ve had both living under my roof, and it is fascinating to me just how much dog differ. 

Here’s the best way to catch your dog in action…try setting up a camera or even a pet cam to spy on them. You might be surprised by what you see! You’ll soon see that some dogs will stare out the window, others will bark at passing dogs, or some will talk to themselves (yes, this one is true).

But don't worry, no matter what you see, there are things you can do to keep your pup entertained while you're away. Puzzle toys, treat dispensers, and interactive toys can all keep your dog occupied and mentally stimulated...dog cognition is a real and valuable thing! And if you're really worried, consider hiring a dog trainer (Hi, that’s me Pat!) or enrolling in a dog training program to address any behavior issues.
