Dog Trainer Tips for Puppy Socializing Training
I am going to be sharing some of the dog training secrets I learned from my experiences as an Animal Behavioral College certified dog trainer for any bread of dog from huskies, dobermans, pit-bulls, bichons and everything in between.
Let’s talk about puppies.
So you got a new dog, amazing, congrats! Now we need to teach them how to socialize in many situations. Socialization is crucial in helping your dog become well-adjusted and confident around people, animals, and different environments.
To start, introduce your puppy to a variety of people, animals, and environments in a positive and controlled manner. Trying to get a few other pups together and exposing them to different sights and sounds can be helpful as well. I tend to see the most progress in pups when they are with other dogs…being social creatures, they are always watching (and learning) from others. Don’t forget to always praise and reward your puppy for calm and friendly behavior and avoid exposing them to situations that may scare or overwhelm them.
Remember, socialization is an ongoing process, and it should be continued throughout your dog's life. By socializing your puppy in many situations, you'll help them develop into a confident and happy companion.
You got this!
